Second Step® Curriculum Enhancements
Using a research-based curriculum to teach Social Emotional Learning (SEL) such as Second Step® is a great way to build your universal system of SEL instruction. However, having used this curriculum for over 10 years now, we have found that there are some things that could help enhance the instruction. These products will help you to connect and expand your student’s SEL learning. These resources are the original creation of Behavior Savers. They are aligned with the Second Step® Curriculum but they have not been endorsed or reviewed by Committee for Children, the creator of the curriculum. Permission to use the name Second Step® has been granted but does not imply association with the publisher.
Lesson Worksheets
These lesson worksheets were designed to follow the each of the lessons of the Second Step® Curriculum. They are the perfect extension to the lessons. They have limited amount of writing so they are great for students who are averse to writing or have special needs. This resource is intended for any educator (teachers, special educators, counselors, social workers, or psychologists) to use after each lesson.
Pocket Chart Cards
Expanding your student’s vocabulary for Social Emotional Learning (SEL) helps them to connect to the concepts presented. These 3”x 6” Pocket Chart Cards were designed to follow the Key Words presented in each lesson of the Second Step® Curriculum. It’s a great visual to use during the lesson and display them throughout the week to remind and reinforce the concepts.
